vercel-labs/agent-browser returns at #1 on GitHub's trending repositories board on November 8, 2026, after missing yesterday's board entirely. It last ranked #10 on November 6. Skills repos fill four of the top five: cloudflare/security-audit-skill at #2, google/skills at #3, mattpocock/skills at #4 and anthropics/skills at #5. Five of the six repos that survived from yesterday climbed, led by cloudflare/security-audit-skill up 15 spots from #17 to #2. zed-industries/zed, yesterday's #1 debut in the daily snapshots, fell 12 spots to #13. Twelve repos fell off against yesterday's GitHub snapshot. The board lists 15 repos today, three fewer than yesterday's 18. The snapshot was taken at 05:01 UTC; the baseline for the movers is November 7.
Agent and skills repos retake the top five
The top five are all agent or skills projects. agent-browser leads, followed by three skills repos and anthropics/skills at #5, a first appearance: it was on none of the November 5, 6 or 7 boards. agent-browser is a return rather than a debut. It ranked #10 on November 6, fell off the board on November 7, and re-enters at #1 today.
The theme flipped back in a day. Six of yesterday's top eight were languages, frameworks and developer tools: zed at #1, rails at #3, rust at #5, react at #6, angular at #7 and symfony at #8. mpv-player/mpv, a media player, sat at #4, and NVIDIA/auto-ontology at #2. Today those repos are mostly gone, and agent and skills projects are back on top. That reads as two crowds alternating rather than one trend building steadily: the board flipped from an agent-and-skills-heavy board on November 6 to languages and frameworks on November 7, and back to agent and skills projects today.
Eight repos are first appearances in the last three daily snapshots, anthropics/skills included. The rest: meta/astryx at #6, sherlock-project/sherlock at #8, milind-soni/OpenMausBot at #9, tailwindlabs/tailwindcss at #11, mbillow/localthings at #12, ranxianglei/billion-context at #14 and dsx-ai-factory/nvke at #15.
Five climbers, led by a 15-spot jump
Every surviving repo except zed gained ground:
| Repo | Rank | Yesterday | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| cloudflare/security-audit-skill | 2 | 17 | +15 |
| mattpocock/skills | 4 | 16 | +12 |
| astral-sh/ruff | 10 | 18 | +8 |
| google/skills | 3 | 10 | +7 |
| prometheus/prometheus | 7 | 9 | +2 |
cloudflare/security-audit-skill posts the day's biggest climb at 15 spots, from #17 to #2. mattpocock/skills recovers 12 spots to #4 after falling 14 yesterday, its second swing of 12 or more spots in two days. Its rank over the last five daily snapshots: #5 on November 4, #3 on November 5, #2 on November 6, #16 on November 7, #4 today. The API's own 1d rank-change call returned the same five climbers, with prev ranks one spot off on three of them because its baseline snapshot was taken about two hours earlier, at 03:01 UTC.
zed gives up #1 after a single day; 12 repos fall off
zed-industries/zed debuted at #1 in yesterday's daily snapshot and falls 12 spots to #13 today, the day's biggest drop. It is the only surviving repo that lost ground, and no repo held its exact rank.
Twelve repos left the board entirely: NVIDIA/auto-ontology (#2), rails/rails (#3), mpv-player/mpv (#4), rust-lang/rust (#5), react/react (#6), angular/angular (#7), symfony/symfony (#8), microsoft/vscode (#11), lz4/lz4 (#12), nushell/nushell (#13), etcd-io/etcd (#14) and openssl/openssl (#15). Yesterday's #2 through #8 are all gone in one day. rails, mpv and rust had all entered at #3, #4 and #5 yesterday as first appearances in the November 4 to 6 snapshots; their runs lasted a single day.

Reproduce this board with one call
The leaders board is one REST call. The climbers table is a second call with sort and window parameters:
curl -X POST https://api.trendsmcp.ai/api \
-H "Authorization: Bearer <redacted>" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"mode": "get_top_trends", "type": "GitHub", "limit": 20}'
Add "sort": "rank_change", "window": "1d" to the request body to get the climbers table with prev_rank and rank_change on every row. The API call returns the same five climbers as the table above, but its prev ranks sit one spot off on three rows because its baseline snapshot was taken at 03:01 UTC, about two hours before the published board's 05:01 UTC snapshot. For how these daily boards feed longer-term analysis, see the October trend-velocity census.
