Ranked list of the biggest moves on GitHub trending repositories on November 7, 2026, with zed-industries/zed debuting at number one and mattpocock/skills falling fourteen spots to number sixteen

zed-industries/zed debuts at #1 on GitHub's trending repositories board on November 7, 2026, on a board that turned over almost completely overnight. Fourteen of the 18 rows are new, 11 repos fell off against yesterday's GitHub snapshot, and no repo climbed. The four repos that survived from yesterday all fell, led by mattpocock/skills sliding 14 spots from #2 to #16. The board lists 18 repos today, three more than yesterday's 15. The snapshot was taken at 05:01 UTC; the baseline for the movers is November 6.

zed debuts at #1 on a board with 14 new rows

Fourteen repos entered the board today, and none of them appeared on the November 4, 5 or 6 boards, so all 14 are first appearances in the last three daily snapshots. zed goes straight to #1, rails/rails enters at #3, mpv-player/mpv at #4 and rust-lang/rust at #5. The rest of the entrants: react/react at #6, angular/angular at #7, symfony/symfony at #8, prometheus/prometheus at #9, microsoft/vscode at #11, nushell/nushell at #13, etcd-io/etcd at #14, openssl/openssl at #15, cloudflare/security-audit-skill at #17 and astral-sh/ruff at #18.

The entrants change what the board is about. Yesterday's board was dominated by AI agent and skills repos. Today's new rows are mostly general-purpose languages, frameworks and developer tools, with only cloudflare/security-audit-skill carrying the skills theme. This reads as a different crowd arriving at once rather than a gradual drift: 14 rows changed in a single day, against 10 new rows on November 5 and six on November 6.

No climbers: the four survivors all slid

No repo gained a rank against yesterday. The API's own 1d rank-change call returned zero climbers as well, so the finding does not depend on which baseline is used. All four returning repos lost ground:

RepoRankYesterdayChange
NVIDIA/auto-ontology21-1
google/skills109-1
lz4/lz4128-4
mattpocock/skills162-14

NVIDIA/auto-ontology gives up #1 after holding it for two days and settles at #2. mattpocock/skills posts the day's biggest fall at 14 spots, dropping from #2 to #16 after climbing from #5 to #2 over the previous two days.

Eleven fall off, including yesterday's #3, #4 and #5

Eleven repos left the board entirely: garrytan/gstack (#3), Usagi-org/ai-goofish-monitor (#4), D4Vinci/Scrapling (#5), vercel-labs/agent-desktop (#6), max-sixty/worktrunk (#7), vercel-labs/agent-browser (#10), scenario-labs/skills (#11), ConardLi/garden-skills (#12), microsoft/VibeVoice (#13), floci-io/floci (#14) and JiaFeiMiao-K-Cat/DiscImageStudio (#15). Yesterday's #3, #4 and #5 are all gone in one day. gstack had climbed seven spots to #3 yesterday; Scrapling had jumped nine to #5. Both runs ended the same way, off the board.

The leaders board is one REST call. The climbers table is a second call with sort and window parameters:

curl -X POST https://api.trendsmcp.ai/api \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <redacted>" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"mode": "get_top_trends", "type": "GitHub", "limit": 20}'

Add "sort": "rank_change", "window": "1d" to the request body to get the climbers table with prev_rank and rank_change on every row, exactly as quoted above. For how these daily boards feed longer-term analysis, see the October trend-velocity census.
