Pass sort rank_change and a window on get_top_trends to list TikTok Trending Hashtags climbers versus a prior snapshot, then compare 1d through 30d counts from one Trends MCP account.
Live data as of 2026-08-29
TikTok Trending Hashtags rank_change on Trends MCP is get_top_trends with type TikTok Trending Hashtags, sort rank_change, and a window such as 1d. From the August 29, 2026 pull, the board stamped 2026-08-29T16:01:41 UTC. The 1d window used baseline 2026-08-29T02:01:36 UTC, about 14 hours earlier on the same calendar day, and returned count 0 with a note that everything held or fell. The 3d window returned 135 climbers. The largest 3d climb was rip at rank 77, prev_rank 193, rank_change 116. Same-stamp TikTok Trending Searches 1d returned 31 climbers against that same 02:01 baseline. The default sort rank board filled 200 hashtags, then count 0 at offset 200. Free tier access is 100 requests per month.
From the Trends MCP scan of August 29, 2026, TikTok Trending Hashtags sort rank_change stamped 2026-08-29T16:01:41 UTC and filled 0 climber rows on window 1d, 135 on 3d, 102 on 7d, 108 on 14d, and 82 on 30d, so a default sort rank pull at limit 25 never lists these mover fields.

The 1d empty payload is a real JSON body with a note field, not a transport error. Offset 25 on that same 1d call repeated the held-or-fell note. Rank 1 tiktokshopbacktoschool was already at the top of the current board, so it was absent from the 1d climber list. On 3d it sat at rank 1 from prev_rank 3, rank_change 2. On 7d it sat at rank 1 from prev_rank 6, rank_change 5. On 14d it sat at rank 1 from prev_rank 18, rank_change 17.
get_top_trends with type TikTok Trending Hashtags, sort rank_change, and window 3d returns climber objects, and REST mode get_top_trends bills that call as one request per page, so three 3d pages plus one 1d probe plus four default-rank pages to walk the 200-row board is eight requests before any get_growth follow-up.

MCP clients send the same fields on get_top_trends. Window must be one of 1d, 3d, 7d, 14d, or 30d. The 1d baseline on this stamp was 2026-08-29T02:01:36 UTC against as_of 2026-08-29T16:01:41 UTC, a same-day gap near 14 hours rather than a rolling 24-hour cut. The TikTok Trending Hashtags API page documents default sort rank. The TikTok Searches rank_change API page documents the same sort flag on the sibling search board. Offset and limit behavior is on get_top_trends pagination.
A default sort rank row is a two-item array of rank and hashtag string. A rank_change row is an object. Clients that unpack index 0 and index 1 will fail on climber payloads. Read rank, keyword, prev_rank, and rank_change by name.
Pagination also changes the empty-body note. Default sort rank at offset 200 returned count 0 with no note. rank_change 3d at offset 150, past the 135 climbers, returned count 0 with the held-or-fell note. rank_change 30d at offset 100, past the 82 climbers, did the same. An offset past the climber list is not proof that the whole board held.
The default get_top_trends limit is 25, and on this stamp that page of current ranks ended at halloween, while the largest 3d climb sat at current rank 77, so a current-rank pull at the default page size never saw rip, starbucks, or blueface.
The current-rank board filled 50 rows at offset 0, 50, 100, and 150, then count 0 at offset 200. Rank 1 was tiktokshopbacktoschool. Rank 2 was movie. Rank 5 was spiderman. Rank 10 was fortnite. Rank 24 was sohochic. Rank 25 was halloween. Rank 33 was fall. Rank 49 was outerbanks. Rank 56 was blueface. Rank 68 was starbucks. Rank 77 was rip. prev_rank values of 193, 197, and 199 on the 3d list only make sense if the compared snapshots are 200 rows deep.
sort rank_change orders by positions climbed, not by current rank. A rank_change call at limit 25 on window 3d would still return rip first. A current-rank call at limit 25 would not. Mixing the two payloads is the usual bug: the live board answers who is on top now, the climber list answers who moved, and those sets barely overlap at the top of this stamp.
get_growth on source tiktok turns a climber string into a dated 0-100 index plus volume, and those series on this stamp did not all rise with Hashtags rank_change: blueface climbed 111 ranks over 14d while tiktok 7D volume fell 48.55%, and several live tags returned no_data.

halloween sat at current rank 25 and climbed 60 ranks over 30d from prev_rank 85. tiktok still returned 404 no_data. rip, the 3d leader at +116, returned 404. gta6 at rank 60, 3d +24, returned 404. spiderman at live rank 5 returned 404. Presence on the 200-row board is not a promise that source tiktok has history.
google search, shared recent_date 2026-08-22, 260 weekly points, split from those board moves. fall sat at 65.0 versus 62.0 over 7D (+4.84%) and 47.0 over 3M (+38.3%). outer banks (spaced) sat at 52.0 versus 12.0 over 7D (+333.33%) and 8.0 over 3M (+550.0%). The concatenated google search keyword outerbanks sat at 70.0 versus 15.0 over 7D (+366.67%). college sat at 78.0 versus 80.0 over 7D (-2.5%) and 79.0 over 30D (-1.27%) while the tiktok series for college was still rising. halloween sat at 7.0, flat over 7D, +75.0% over 30D from 4.0, with no tiktok series behind the live rank. blueface sat at 46.0 versus 20.0 over 7D (+130.0%) while tiktok volume for the same string was falling. GTA 6 sat at 36.0 versus 14.0 over 7D (+157.14%). spiderman sat at 43.0 versus 60.0 over 7D (-28.33%) and versus 100.0 over 14D (-57.0%). Quote recent_volume when the tiktok index baseline is 0.0. The 999999.0 growth sentinel is not a percent to publish.
The same 1d window and 02:01:36 UTC baseline produced a full Searches climber list and an empty Hashtags climber list, so a client that polls Hashtags for movers on this stamp would miss the Searches board entirely.

Google Trends, Wikipedia Trending, and YouTube Trending each filled the requested 25-row page, so those 1d counts are page sizes, not proven board totals. Hashtags 1d was a true empty set: count 0 at offset 0 and again at offset 25. The Hashtags versus Searches page covers the two default boards. This page isolates the climber flag.
get_growth does not accept a live-board type. Follow-ups use keyword sources such as tiktok or google search. Short windows on slower feeds can return a note pointing at a longer window. Free covers 100 requests per month. Starter is $19 for 1,000. Check current pricing before locking a production budget.
