Spotify rank_change on Trends MCP is get_top_trends with type Spotify Top Podcasts, sort rank_change, and a window such as 1d. From the August 27, 2026 pull, the board stamped 2026-08-27T08:01:41 UTC. The 1d window used baseline 2026-08-26T02:01:36 UTC and returned 71 climbers across limit 50 then offset 50. Ghosteas sat at rank 153, prev_rank 183, rank_change 30. The 7d window used baseline 2026-08-20T02:01:39 UTC and returned 90 climbers. TigerBelly led that list at rank 92, prev_rank 146, rank_change 54. Default sort rank filled 200 shows, then count 0 at offset 200. Rank 1 was Spotify Live, which did not appear on the 1d climber list. Free tier access is 100 requests per month.

Spotify 1d returned 71 climbers while rank 1 held

From the Trends MCP scan of August 27, 2026, Spotify Top Podcasts sort rank_change stamped 2026-08-27T08:01:41 UTC and filled 71 climber rows on window 1d, at least 50 on 3d, 90 on 7d, at least 50 on 14d, and at least 50 on 30d, so a default sort rank pull at limit 25 never lists these mover fields.

Default sort rank on the same stamp filled 50 rows at offsets 0, 50, 100, and 150, then count 0 at offset 200. Rank 1 was Spotify Live. Rank 2 The Joe Rogan Experience. Rank 3 Crime Junkie. Rank 4 The Shawn Ryan Show. The Spotify Top Podcasts API page still describes a 25-row scan from August 5, 2026 led by The Joe Rogan Experience. This pull closed at 200, and Spotify Live had taken rank 1.

1d at limit 50 returned 50 rows, offset 50 returned 21, and offset 100 returned count 0 with a note that nothing else climbed versus that baseline. Offset 25 on the 1d list is the wrong close test. Page size 50 already left 21 rows on the second page.

Same-stamp Google Trends 1d returned count 11, led by jelly roll at rank 31, prev_rank 135, rank_change 104. Wikipedia Trending 1d returned count 12, led by Buddy (2026 film) at rank 69, prev_rank 188, rank_change 119. App Store Top Free on this stamp listed ChatGPT at rank 1. ChatGPT was absent from Spotify 200.

Spotify Live appeared on the 14d climber list at rank 1, prev_rank 11, rank_change 10. A title can hold overnight and still be a two-week climber. Rank 1 is not a shortcut for sort rank_change.

Exact API calls for climber boards

sort rank_change plus window is a separate get_top_trends request from default sort rank, so a 1d climber pull and a current-rank pull on August 27, 2026 are two requests, and each extra window is another request because window is per call.

MCP clients send the same fields on get_top_trends. 7d at limit 50 returned 50 rows, then offset 50 returned 40, for a closed climber list of 90. One 1d row carried a trailing space in the title field: Hot On The Case. Equality joins against a trimmed catalog will miss it.

1d leaders sat far below rank 25

A limit 25 current-rank pull never sees the shows that moved the most overnight. Ghosteas led 1d from rank 183 to 153. The next 1d names were And The Writer Is...with Ross Golan at rank 108, prev 133, +25, and American Alchemy with Jesse Michels at rank 110, prev 135, +25. 2 Bears, 1 Cave with Tom Segura & Bert Kreischer was the highest-ranked large 1d mover, at rank 57, prev 81, +24.

TigerBelly led 7d at +54 to rank 92 and also sat on 1d at rank 92, prev 97, +5. Lex Fridman Podcast led 30d at +95 to rank 97, prev 192, and only moved +3 on 1d (rank 97, prev 100). Window length changes which title looks like the story.

Board rank and search indexes diverge on the same titles

Spotify rank is in-app position. get_growth on google search or youtube is off-platform demand. On 2026-08-22, Spotify Live sat at google search 28.0, down 22.22% over 7 days from 36.0 and down 52.54% over 3 months from 59.0, while youtube sat at 71.0, up 12.7% over 7 days from 63.0 and up 115.15% over 3 months from 33.0. Rank 1 on this stamp is a youtube climb, not a google search climb.

The Joe Rogan Experience held Spotify rank 2 with google search 14.0, down 26.32% over 7 days from 19.0 and down 56.25% over 30 days from 32.0. youtube sat at 21.0, up 16.67% over 7 days, 30 days, and 3 months from 18.0. That youtube line is flat across windows. The google search line is not.

Ghosteas, the 1d leader, sat at google search 40.0 on 2026-08-22, up 135.29% over 7 days from 17.0. The 30D google search baseline was 0.0, so that percent is omitted. youtube sat at 75.0, down 6.25% over 7 days from 80.0. The google search series also carried a low-quality warning that more than 90% of underlying points were zero. Treat the 135.29% 7D move as a sparse series, not as proof the show is a mass-search breakout.

TigerBelly led 7d on Spotify while google search sat at 7.0, down 22.22% over 7 days from 9.0, and youtube sat at 7.0, flat over 7 days. Lex Fridman Podcast led 30d on Spotify while google search sat at 8.0, down 33.33% over 7 days from 12.0 and down 55.56% over 30 days from 18.0. youtube sat at 9.0, up 50.0% over 30 days from 6.0. Scandal at Spotify rank 49 is an overloaded keyword. google search 44.0 and youtube 25.0 on "Scandal" mix the TV catalog with the podcast.

ChatGPT search sat at 80.0, up 8.11% over 7 days from 74.0, with no Spotify row to join. dolly parton led Google Trends at rank 1 with search index 1.0, flat over 7 days, also with no Spotify row.
