The fastest climber of October was Heidi Klum, who gained 151 ranks on Google Trends in 7 days, a pace of 21.6 rank points per day. Wikipedia set the most violent pace overall: XNXX gained 140 ranks, Jeff Bezos 128, and the Resident Evil 2026 film 98 over the same week. Across 10 platforms and 244 distinct topics, zero topics overlapped on 3 or more sources; only 3 appeared on 2. On the month view, the 30 day leaders were Wikipedia page You Can See Everything at plus 136 ranks and Spotify podcast Between Episodes at plus 125. TikTok's month was Halloween: halloween sits at number 1, and the climbers feeding it were october, up to rank 31, and costume, up to rank 131.
Heidi Klum outran everything on Google Trends this week
Heidi Klum gained 151 rank points in 7 days on Google Trends, rising from rank 160 to rank 9. That is 21.57 rank points per day, the single fastest velocity recorded in the 7 day window on any of the 6 sources that return rank change data.
The Google Trends top 10 on November 3 also shows how concentrated a single news cycle can get: patrick stewart sits at rank 1, native american heritage month at rank 2, and haley stevens at rank 6. Heidi Klum's own search growth tells a subtler story than the rank jump. Her Google Search growth over 3 months is flat, 0.0 percent point to point, and the 12 month comparison is down 16.67 percent. The rank velocity captures a spike, not a rising trend.

Wikipedia pages set the steepest pace in October
XNXX moved from rank 161 to rank 21 on Wikipedia in 7 days, a gain of 140 rank points, or 20.0 per day. Jeff Bezos followed at plus 128 ranks, from 174 to 46, a pace of 18.29 per day. Resident Evil (2026 film) added 98 ranks, from 181 to 83, at 14.0 per day. Three of the four fastest 7 day climbers across every source came from Wikipedia.
Spotify had its own surge. The Watch climbed 67 ranks, from 139 to 72, at 9.57 per day. STAN:A added 63 ranks, from 89 to 26, at 9.0 per day. Real Baron Podcast gained 49 ranks, from 200 to 151, at 7.0 per day. The top of the podcast board stayed familiar, though: The Joe Rogan Experience still holds rank 1, with Good Hang with Amy Poehler at 2 and The Shawn Ryan Show at 3.
Steam moved slowest at the top. Counter-Strike 2 holds rank 1, Dota 2 rank 2, and Phantom Blade Zero rank 3. Apex Legends was the week's biggest Steam mover, up 14 ranks from 21 to 7, a pace of 2.0 per day. Wallpaper Engine gained 12 ranks, from 22 to 10, at 1.71 per day. The data suggests game boards are stickier than attention boards: the highest 7 day velocity on Steam was 2.0 rank points per day, against 21.57 on Google Trends.

The 30 day view belongs to new entries and Halloween
Over 30 days, the steepest climbs were Wikipedia page You Can See Everything, up 136 ranks from 155 to 19 at 4.53 per day, and Spotify's Between Episodes, up 125 ranks from 194 to 69 at 4.17 per day. Obsession (2025 film) added 112 ranks, from 161 to 49, at 3.73 per day. Baththa gained 107 ranks, from 170 to 63, at 3.57 per day.
TikTok's month shows a calendar effect the weekly window misses. The hashtag christapike climbed 70 ranks, from 171 to 101, at 2.33 per day. The hashtag october rose 60 ranks, from 91 to 31. The hashtag costume gained 52 ranks, from 183 to 131, and tiktokshopblackfriday added 47. TikTok's current number 1 hashtag is halloween. The 7 day window returned no rank change rows for TikTok hashtags at all, which the data shows plainly: seasonal buildup is a monthly signal.
On Amazon, the 30 day leaders were The Calamity Club: A Novel, up 31 ranks from 146 to 115 at 1.03 per day, and Cottonelle Ultra Clean Toilet Paper, up 24 ranks from 87 to 63 at 0.8 per day. The top of the Amazon board is household staples: AAA batteries at rank 1, AA batteries at rank 2, and Verity at rank 3. On Google Trends, snow gained 19 ranks over 30 days, from 165 to 146, at 0.63 per day. Its Google Search growth over 3 months was plus 5.88 percent, with an estimated 2,410,000 recent searches against a 2,270,000 baseline. Slay the Spire 2 shows how point to point growth can mislead: minus 27.27 percent over 3 months, but plus 700 percent over 12 months, from a baseline index of 1.0 to a recent 8.0.
Platforms barely agree on what is moving
Across 244 distinct keywords on 10 sources, only 3 topics appeared on more than one source. Zero appeared on 3 or more. The three double appearances all paired Google Trends with Wikipedia: patrick stewart at Google rank 1 and Wikipedia rank 12, haley stevens at Google rank 6 and Wikipedia rank 1, and susan saint james at Google rank 13 and Wikipedia rank 3.
This is the finding that should change how readers sample trends. The same week's number 1 topics were patrick stewart on Google, Haley Stevens on Wikipedia, halloween on TikTok, Bears on X, Grupo Firme's El Esparza video on YouTube, The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify, Counter-Strike 2 on Steam, AAA batteries on Amazon, and a Slate headline about Haley Stevens' fiance on Google News, and a dinnie-stones lift topping Reddit's front page. Ten platforms, ten different answers. This suggests velocity measured on one board does not transfer, and a single source ranking is a snapshot of one audience, not a census.
METHOD: how the October 2026 velocity census was measured
The census pulled from the Trends data API on November 3, 2026. Two rank change windows were used: 7 days (baseline October 27, 2026) and 30 days (baseline October 4, 2026). For each source the call requested 25 rows sorted by rank change, the API's own measure of how far an entry climbed the board. The velocity metric is rank points gained per day: rank change divided by window length. Overlap analysis compared the current top 25 ranks across 10 sources, normalized by lowercasing and stripping punctuation, and counted topics appearing on 3 or more sources.
| Feed | Rank change rows returned |
|---|---|
| Google Trends | 7d and 30d |
| Wikipedia Trending | 7d and 30d |
| Spotify Top Podcasts | 7d and 30d |
| Steam Most Played | 7d and 30d |
| Amazon Best Sellers Top Rated | 7d and 30d |
| TikTok Trending Hashtags | 30d only |
| YouTube Trending | rank list only |
| Reddit Hot Posts | rank list only |
| X (Twitter) Trending | rank list only |
| Google News Top News | rank list only |
| TikTok Trending Searches | none |
Five feeds returned no rank change rows in either window: Reddit, YouTube, X, Google News, and TikTok Trending Searches. TikTok hashtags returned rows for 30 days but none for 7 days. Feed formats and field definitions are in the data catalog; the endpoint reference lives in the API docs.
One honest limit: rank change rewards novelty. An entry climbing from 200 to 100 gains 100 points with the same effort a stable top 10 entry never needs, so velocity rankings favor fresh spikes over durable demand. The growth calls confirm it: Heidi Klum's 3 month Google Search trend is flat even as she led the 7 day velocity board. The velocities measure acceleration, not total attention.
