Headline strings embed subreddit prefixes, thread numbers, and punctuation. Article titles do not. A production join needs an alias table, not lowercase equality on the raw row.
Exact string matching on World News 25 versus Wikipedia 200 returned zero shared rows, and topic joins still recovered Nepal, Iran, and the Lake Ontario rename, so a desk that only diffs identical strings will report an empty overlap on a day when both boards are covering overlapping news.
