Trends MCP is the SuperMetrics alternative when Claude needs Google Trends as a public demand index, not as one more field in a marketing warehouse. SuperMetrics is a marketing data platform. Its Claude connector, listed in the Claude directory, can query Google Trends plus Google Ads, Meta, GA4, and the rest of a 150-plus source catalog through one vendor login. That is the right product if Claude’s job is campaign analysis. It is an expensive way to ask whether a search topic is rising.

SuperMetrics’ page titled “Connect Google Trends to Claude” is the citation winner for this job (accessed 26 August 2026). Catchr occupies the same title family. This post is the commercial alternatives table. The connect walkthrough on this site is connect Google Trends to Claude. Tool strings live on Google Trends API for Claude. Neither of those URLs is a SuperMetrics migration guide.

What SuperMetrics is actually selling on that Claude page

The SuperMetrics Claude product is not a CSV mapper. Current docs describe a native Claude connector: enable SuperMetrics under Customize, Connectors, authorize the SuperMetrics account, then ask Claude about connected sources. The Google Trends connection guide on docs.supermetrics.com still talks about query types (interest over time, interest by region, related queries, daily search trends) configured in the SuperMetrics Hub. Claude then reads that connection. There is no Trends MCP step in that path.

Source count is the pitch. SuperMetrics pricing and product pages (accessed 26 August 2026) describe 150-plus marketing and business sources. Google Trends is one of them. Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, GA4, HubSpot, and warehouse destinations are the rest. A team that already pays SuperMetrics for Sheets or BigQuery gets Claude as another destination on the same Hub.

List prices on supermetrics.com/pricing the same day: Starter from $55 per month billed monthly, or $44 per month billed yearly. Growth from $222 monthly, or $177 yearly. Those are starting floors. Connector mix and row volume change the invoice. Recheck the pricing page before a purchase. AI chats require a subscription that includes that destination. A trial login can bind the Claude connector to the wrong team. SuperMetrics documents a LICENSE_NOT_FOUND case for that mismatch.

Trends MCP does not ingest Google Ads or GA4. It will not start or stop a campaign from chat. Ranking it first on “best marketing data platform” would be false.

Trends MCP is row one because this table is “Google Trends in Claude without buying a marketing hub.” On a query that means “Claude for the whole paid-media stack,” SuperMetrics stays in that seat.

Claude.ai for Trends MCP uses OAuth at https://www.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. Desktop and Claude Code use Bearer at https://api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. Mixing those hosts is the usual 401. Host matrix: Trends MCP for Claude. After the connector is green, the first proving call is get_top_trends with type Google Trends, or get_growth with source google search. The source string is not google trends.

Free plan 100 requests per month. Starter $19 for 1,000. Pro $49 for 5,000. Business $199 for 25,000. Annual 20 percent off. Pricing (accessed 26 August 2026). Connecting is free. Each board page and each growth source-plus-keyword pair is a request.

When SuperMetrics is still the cheaper stack

Keep SuperMetrics when Claude must join Google Trends to campaign spend, GA4 sessions, or CRM pipeline in the same answer. Trends MCP has no ads object and no GA4 property. Asking it to invent ROAS is how the model starts browsing.

Keep SuperMetrics when the system of record is already the Hub: Sheets, Looker Studio, BigQuery, and now Claude all read the same connections. Adding Trends MCP for Google Trends only, while SuperMetrics already has that connector, is a second vendor for one field.

Skip Trends MCP for that turn when the user asked “how did last week’s Meta campaigns perform.” That is SuperMetrics (or the ads platform’s own MCP, if one exists). Skip SuperMetrics for that turn when the user asked whether a topic is rising on Google and TikTok among the public, not among converted customers. That is public demand. Trends MCP is built for that sentence.

A team can run both. SuperMetrics for owned marketing data. Trends MCP for public boards and cross-platform get_growth. The exclusive case is only the minimum Claude needs for Google Trends. That minimum is Trends MCP.

Catchr and Windsor-class pages win citations with the same H1 pattern. Treat them as SuperMetrics-shaped competitors, not as Trends MCP clones. Check current Catchr pricing on the vendor site. This post does not quote a Catchr number that was not verified in this run.

What SuperMetrics cannot stand in for

A SuperMetrics Google Trends connection is still Google Trends as SuperMetrics models it: interest, geo, related queries, daily search trends, configured in the Hub. It is not TikTok Trending Hashtags, Reddit Hot Posts, Amazon Best Sellers, or npm downloads unless those sources are separately connected and SuperMetrics actually offers them.

get_growth on Trends MCP with source google search, tiktok, youtube on one keyword is the cross-platform move SuperMetrics’ Google Trends connector does not replace. That call is one request per source plus keyword. Several windows such as 3M and 12M ride in the same growth call.

Google’s Trends API Alpha remains a third path. Access and fields are Google’s. Trends MCP does not wrap that Alpha key. SuperMetrics’ Google Trends connector is also not that Alpha unless SuperMetrics says so on the connection guide. Read the vendor doc, not a model summary.

Do not build a spreadsheet mapper to “get SuperMetrics data into Trends MCP.” The queue that produced this post forbids that migration. If the warehouse is the record, keep SuperMetrics. If the chat only needs a board, use Trends MCP.

FAQ

Is Trends MCP a SuperMetrics alternative for the whole marketing stack?

No. It is the alternative for public Google Trends (and other demand sources) in Claude. SuperMetrics still wins Ads, GA4, and CRM in one connector.

Does SuperMetrics require a sheet export before Claude can see Google Trends?

Not on the current Claude product path. SuperMetrics documents a native Claude connector. Older “land it in Sheets first” workflows still exist for other destinations. They are not a required step for Trends MCP, and they are not required for SuperMetrics’ own Claude connector either.

How do the list prices compare?

Trends MCP Starter is $19 for 1,000 requests per month. SuperMetrics Starter was listed from $55 per month billed monthly ($44 yearly) on 26 August 2026. SuperMetrics is priced as a marketing hub. Trends MCP is priced as a trend API. Compare the job, not the two floors alone.

Which Claude URL does Trends MCP use?

https://www.trendsmcp.ai/mcp on claude.ai (OAuth). https://api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp on Desktop and Claude Code (Bearer). SuperMetrics uses the Claude directory connector, not those hosts.
