Sensor Tower does not publish a self-serve price grid. The live pricing URL is a demo form that says plans are customized per customer (accessed 9 September 2026). A free signup exists for App Performance Insights, while full modules, API, and MCP sit on an Order Form. The Data Access Service meters both API calls and MCP calls as DAS Calls against Call Credits that expire unused. Trends MCP is not a Sensor Tower substitute for modeled downloads, Pathmatics ads, or retention. It is the cheaper path when the job is live App Store and Google Play boards plus Android bundle-ID growth inside Cursor.

Why the dollar amount is still missing

Sensor Tower's commercial pricing page at app.sensortower.com/pricing is a demo request, not a SKU table. The copy on that form (accessed 9 September 2026) states that pricing plans are customized per customer. The same page lists the modules a quote can include: Mobile App, Digital Advertising, Audience, Web Insights, Video Game Insights, Playliner, Gen AI, and MCP Server. None of those cards print a monthly or annual dollar amount.

The App Performance Insights FAQ is equally blunt. Full access is on paid plans, and the price varies by access level, markets covered, and features. A free signup is offered on that product page. The Terms of Service treat any no-cost access (including beta, early access, experimental, preview, or trial labels) as Free Tier, which Sensor Tower may limit, change, or remove at any time. Cancellation of Free Tier is a written request to [email protected] with CANCEL ACCOUNT in the subject line.

Paid access is an Order Form. Unless the Order Form says otherwise, full payment is due within 30 days of the Order Form or invoice. The initial term is whatever that form states. At expiry, the subscription auto-renews for the same duration unless a party requests termination at least 90 days before the next term. Fees for a renewal can rise with notice. Third-party blogs often invent a $30,000 to $150,000 band. Those figures are not on Sensor Tower's site, so this post does not repeat them. Ask for the current quote.

data.ai (formerly App Annie) is no longer a separate product to price. Sensor Tower's own App Performance FAQ states the 2024 acquisition and a 2025 combined panel pipeline. The Terms of Service define Service(s) to include appmagic.rocks and data.ai properties under the same agreement.

What a DAS Call Credit meters for MCP

MCP is not a free add-on on the marketing site. The MCP demo page (accessed 9 September 2026) says the server is available to anyone with an active Sensor Tower API subscription, using current Sensor Tower credentials. The July 2026 product post calls MCP an additional product for qualifying users, subject to applicable terms, and names App Advertising and App Performance as the first connected datasets, with more products still rolling out.

The Data Access Service Supplement v1.2 is the durable contract, not the blog. A DAS Call is an API call or an MCP call. Call Credits are the unit on the Call Limit in the Order Form. Consumption rates can vary by call type. A single user action or query may produce multiple DAS Calls. Unused Call Credits expire at the end of the period and do not roll, unless the Order Form says otherwise. There is no cash value and no refund for unused credits. Sensor Tower may change the Consumption Model with reasonable prior written notice. If a customer exceeds the Call Limit, the supplement allows Sensor Tower to suspend DAS access until the next billing period, charge overage at Order Form or then-current rates, or sell additional credits.

Complimentary DAS may exist for a period Sensor Tower can cap, change, or stop without support obligations. The Service Data reachable through DAS may be a subset of the platform Order Form, and that subset can change without notice unless the Order Form locks it. Public MCP pages do not publish a paste-ready Cursor JSON, a transport field, or a credit-per-row tariff.

Trends MCP meters differently, and the public docs split. pricing.md (9 September 2026) lists Free $0 / 100 requests, Starter $19 / 1,000, Pro $49 / 5,000, Business $199 / 25,000, with annual billing saving 20%. HTML yearly amounts as billed are Starter $16/mo ($192), Pro $39/mo ($468), Business $159/mo ($1,910), with a "2 months free" toggle. Keyword alerts on that markdown table are Starter 10, Pro 50, Business 250. HTML cards add depth caps that pricing.md still omits: Free 90 days of history, top 10, 24-hour board delay; Starter 1 year and top 25; Pro 2+ years and top 100 per feed; Business the full archive. docs.md still describes about 5 years of weekly history with no plan split. HTML FAQ says the card is collected at checkout and not charged until day 8; paid-plan fine print says after day 7. HTML FAQ also says one successful API or MCP call equals one request, while docs.md meters MCP get_top_trends at 1 credit per 10 requested rows (max 10 credits per call) and REST at 1 request per call. Cite the split. Do not flatten coverage to 15, 16, 20, 21, 24, 35+, or 40+: HTML cards print 35+ data sources, the HTML FAQ prints 40+, the homepage get_top_trends card still says 21 platforms, docs.md and llms.txt list 16 keyword sources including python plus 24 live feed names, and data-sources.md still lists 20 live feeds and omits all four by Category boards.

Why Sensor Tower MCP is not a paste-ready Cursor install

Sensor Tower's public MCP pages describe natural-language questions against proprietary estimates. Sample prompts on the demo page include monthly download compares, top games by revenue, Facebook versus TikTok ad spend, and D7/D30 retention. Those jobs need the modeled panel. They also need a sales path. There is no public ~/.cursor/mcp.json snippet with a URL and headers.

Trends MCP publishes the Cursor object on docs.md (accessed 9 September 2026):

"trends-mcp": {
  "url": "https://api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp",
  "transport": "http",
  "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" }
}

That file lives at ~/.cursor/mcp.json on Mac and Linux, or %USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json on Windows. transport is "http". Windsurf uses serverUrl instead of Cursor's url plus transport. Claude.ai Connectors OAuth against the www host, not api.trendsmcp.ai. Setup for Cursor is documented on the MCP server for Cursor page.

The app-store job on Trends MCP is live boards plus Android identifiers, not Sensor Tower's estimated downloads. get_top_trends types that match store charts are App Store Top Free, App Store Top Paid, and Google Play. type is required; omitting it returns missing_parameter. Default limit is 25, max 200. Free plan boards return the top 10 only, and offset is pinned at 0. Keyword growth for an Android app uses source app downloads or app rankings with the Play bundle ID (com.openai.chatgpt), not the iOS App Store numeric ID and not the marketing name. Those live boards are the subject of App Store trends and Android app downloads.

That is a different product. Sensor Tower still wins when the buyer needs estimated revenue, active users, Pathmatics ad spend, retention curves, or audience overlap. Trends MCP wins when an agent needs a ranked store board or a bundle-ID growth window without an Order Form.

Which published SKUs cover store work without a sales call

A buyer comparing Sensor Tower quotes usually also opens AppTweak and Appfigures, because those vendors print dollars. Prices below were on the vendor pages on 9 September 2026. Confirm at checkout; this is not a Sensor Tower rate card.

AppTweak Grow is $299/mo or $3,590 billed annually (12 months history). Grow Plus is $549/mo or $6,590 (24 months). The ASO page header prints "Save 2 months" on annual billing. Essential includes a 7-day trial and cancel-anytime copy. Download and revenue estimates on Essential are the Market Intelligence Free plan, past-month totals in 100+ countries, not Sensor Tower's full modeled history.

Appfigures Analytics also lists Monitor $44.99 / $35.99 yearly, Optimize $149.99 / $119.99, Boost $599.99 / $449.99, and Amplify $1,399.99 / $999.99, each with the same 5-apps-then-$1.99 extra. The pricing header prints Save 20%. Market Intelligence is a second grid on the same URL: Scout $599.99/mo, Pathfinder $1,249.99, Scale $2,499.99, Explore contact-only. Do not treat Appfigures Explore as a published SKU.

A longer alternatives list (MobileAction, data.ai history, AppMagic) lives on Sensor Tower alternatives. AppMagic has no public SKU table on this run either.

When the custom quote is still the right purchase

Pay Sensor Tower when the decision needs estimated downloads and revenue, usage and retention, or ad intelligence across Pathmatics channels. The MCP demo prompts (top games by revenue, Facebook versus TikTok spend, D7/D30 retention) describe that job. A live App Store Top Free board does not replace a modeled market-share slide for an investor memo.

Skip the quote when the workflow is an AI agent pulling today's store ranking or Android download growth. Trends MCP Starter at $19/month is a published number. Sensor Tower MCP is gated on an API subscription whose Call Limit is private. For keyword ASO rather than live boards, AppTweak Essential at $79/month is the printed ASO floor on this fetch, and Appfigures Connect at $9.99/month is the printed analytics floor.

Sensor Tower remains the category heavyweight for panel estimates. The honest limit is commercial: the public site will not say what that heavyweight costs.

FAQ

How much does Sensor Tower cost per month?

There is no public monthly grid as of 9 September 2026. The pricing URL is a demo form. Paid access is an Order Form, due in 30 days unless that form says otherwise, with auto-renewal and a 90-day termination notice. Treat any third-party dollar range as unverified until Sensor Tower quotes the modules, seats, and markets in writing.

Does Sensor Tower include a free plan or trial?

The App Performance Insights FAQ says yes, a free signup exists, and full access is on paid plans. The Terms of Service classify no-cost access as Free Tier and allow Sensor Tower to limit or remove it at any time. That is not the same as a published 14-day trial with a SKU.

Is Sensor Tower MCP included in every contract?

No. The MCP demo page requires an active API subscription and current credentials. The July 2026 post calls MCP an additional product for qualifying users. DAS Supplement v1.2 meters MCP calls as DAS Calls against Call Credits that expire unused.

What is a cheaper Sensor Tower alternative for App Store charts?

For live ranked boards, Trends MCP publishes Free through Business SKUs and the Cursor transport: "http" object. For ASO keyword work, AppTweak Essential is $79/month on this fetch. For own-app analytics, Appfigures Connect is $9.99/month. None of those replace Sensor Tower's modeled revenue or Pathmatics ads.

Does Trends MCP estimate app downloads and revenue the way Sensor Tower does?

No. Trends MCP app downloads and app rankings take an Android bundle ID and return keyword-style growth, not Sensor Tower's panel estimates. get_top_trends returns live store ranks for App Store Top Free, App Store Top Paid, and Google Play. Buy Sensor Tower when the slide needs estimated dollars.
