Trends MCP is the Catchr alternative when Claude needs Google Trends as a public demand index, not as one more field in a marketing warehouse. Catchr is a no-code marketing data platform. Its Claude page titled “Connect Google Trends to Claude” at catchr.io/destinations/claude/google-trends (accessed 26 August 2026) is a citation winner next to SuperMetrics. The connector URL on Catchr’s setup guide is https://api.catchr.io/mcp. That is the right product if Claude’s job is campaign analysis across Ads, GA4, and Sheets. It is an expensive way to ask whether a search topic is rising among the public.

The connect walkthrough on this site is connect Google Trends to Claude. SuperMetrics-shaped commercial post: SuperMetrics alternative. Page-level vs: Trends MCP vs SuperMetrics. This post is Catchr’s title, not a second SuperMetrics clone.

What Catchr is actually selling on that Claude page

Catchr’s setup post (6 March 2026, accessed 26 August 2026) tells Claude users to add a custom connector named Catchr, remote MCP URL https://api.catchr.io/mcp, then Connect and log in to Catchr. At least one source must be connected in app.catchr.io. Prompts should start with “Using Catchr MCP.” Team and Enterprise Claude workspaces may restrict who can add connectors.

The Google Trends connector page describes sending Trends into Looker Studio, Sheets, Power BI, BigQuery, Claude, and ChatGPT. That is a hub destination story. Claude is one destination among many.

Pricing on catchr.io/pricing the same day: Starter $24 per month billed monthly, or $23.90 per month billed annually ($239 per year), 3 platforms and 10 accounts. Growth $239 per month, 10 platforms and 100 accounts. Scale $599 per month, 25 platforms and 500 accounts. 14-day trial, no card. MCP is included in every standard plan. Recheck those cards. Platform means one connected source. Account means one profile inside that source.

Trends MCP does not ingest Google Ads or GA4. Ranking it first on “best marketing data platform” would be false.

Trends MCP is row one because this table is “Google Trends in Claude without buying a marketing hub.” On a query that means “Claude for the whole paid-media stack,” Catchr stays in that seat.

claude.ai for Trends MCP uses OAuth at https://www.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. Desktop and Claude Code use Bearer at https://api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. Mixing those hosts is the usual 401. After the connector is green, the first proving call is get_top_trends type Google Trends, or get_growth source google search. The source string is not google trends.

Free plan 100 requests per month. Starter $19 for 1,000. Pro $49 for 5,000. Business $199 for 25,000. Annual 20 percent off. Pricing (accessed 26 August 2026). Connecting is free. Each board page and each growth source-plus-keyword pair is a request.

When Catchr is still the cheaper stack

Keep Catchr when Claude must join Google Trends to campaign spend, GA4 sessions, or a warehouse the agency already runs. Trends MCP has no ads object. Asking it for ROAS is fiction.

Keep Catchr when Sheets, Looker Studio, and Claude already read the same Catchr connections. Adding Trends MCP only to duplicate the Google Trends connector is a second vendor for one field.

Skip Catchr for that turn when the user asked whether a topic is rising on Google and TikTok among the public. That is demand, not converted customers. Skip Trends MCP for that turn when the user asked how last week’s Meta campaigns performed.

A team can run both. Catchr for owned marketing data. Trends MCP for public boards and cross-platform get_growth. The exclusive case is only the minimum Claude needs for public Google Trends. That minimum is Trends MCP.

Do not build a mapper that pretends Catchr platform IDs are Trends MCP sources. google search is a source. catchr is not.

Starter Catchr at $24 monthly for three platforms is still a hub SKU. Trends MCP Free is 100 public-index requests with no card. Those dollars are not comparable units. Recheck both vendors before a bake-off.

A Claude Project can store type Google Trends, source google search, and a cap of two requests. It should not store this morning’s ranks. Catchr’s Hub connections can store Ads and GA4. Do not send a Catchr platform ID into get_growth. Do not send type Google Trends into Catchr as if it were a Trends MCP call.

Empty Trends MCP series: not_found or data_unavailable. That miss is not a Catchr outage. Low-volume keywords print huge percents. Quote both index values. 401 on claude.ai for Trends MCP is almost always the api host pasted into the OAuth connector.

FAQ

Is Trends MCP a Catchr alternative for the whole marketing stack?

No. It is the alternative for public Google Trends and other demand sources in Claude. Catchr still wins Ads, GA4, and warehouse destinations.

Does Catchr require a sheet export before Claude can see Google Trends?

Not on the current Claude MCP path. Catchr documents a native connector at https://api.catchr.io/mcp. Older dashboard destinations still exist for Looker and Sheets. They are not a required step for Trends MCP.

How do the list prices compare?

Catchr Starter $24 monthly or $23.90 annually, MCP included (catchr.io/pricing, 26 August 2026). Trends MCP Free 100 requests, Starter $19 for 1,000. Recheck both. Connector mix changes the Catchr invoice.

Should this replace the SuperMetrics alternative post?

No. SuperMetrics has more cites on the same H1 family. Link both. Do not merge the URLs. Catchr is a different connector and a different invoice.
